Christmas Eve

We had a wonderful Christmas Eve! It started out with breakfast at Smitty's (Our FAVORITE place) with the whole family. Then we went to Tangled, Kendon loved it! Then we went caroling at an assisted living center. We started this tradition a few years ago, and we do it every year. Kendon loves handing out candy canes to all of the old people. It is a highlight of the day. After caroling we went to my parents and frosted sugar cookies and then had a WONDERFUL dinner! Prime rib, potatoes, salad, rolls...It was yummy! Then we opened our Christmas eve presents (Jammies, and Kendon and Boston ornamets) Took our anual pictures in front of the tree in our jammies, acted out the Nativity (Post to come later) Prepared our cookies and milk for Santa, Uncle Jake read the boys Twas the Night before Christmas, and then it was time for the boys to go to bed. In order for Kendon to go right to bed we told him Santa was going to be coming soon, but he would not come unless he was fast asleep. We had Chelsey's friend Reed come over at 8 pm and we went out on the front porch and Reed shook some sleigh bells. We told Kendon Santa was here and he had to go right to bed. I wish we would have gotten it on video! He ran inside, closed the door and ran downstairs as fast as his little feet would let him go and ran straight into his bedroom and jumped into bed! And then he started singing "Up on the housetop reindeer paws, out jumps good ole Santa Clause" and he was off to bed! (I think this will be a tradition every year)
After the boys were in bed we read the story out of the Bible and then gave our gifts to Christ, another tradition of ours we have been doing for years! We have a box and we each write one thing we are going to give up that year, or something we are going to work on, and that is our gift to Christ. We open the box on Christmas Eve and look at what we wrote the year before, it is always fun to see how we did!

The girls on our jammies
Mom and sisters! Love them!
My boys!
My sweet Grandparents! I love them so much! They are so good to us.

It was cute Kendon told me what to write in the letter to Santa, and one of the things he told me to put is "Keep the Commandments" I think Santa can handle that Kendon! ;)
All ready for Santa!

Whatever they grow up to be, they are still our children, and the one most important of all the things we can give them is unconditional love. Not a love that depends on anything at all except that they are our children.
