Easter Weekend

We had a great Easter weekend! On Thursday we had some family here from St. Louis that we had not seen in a couple of years. We all got together for dinner at our house. My mom prepared a big roast (my favorite) Then we dyed Easter eggs. It was Kendon's first time doing this and he was not quite sure about it. He is not one that likes to get messy, so he just sat on my lap and watched, but he still had a lot of fun! He loved being around all of his distant cousins! They were very good about playing with him, and when they left he was so sad!
I had Kendon drop an egg in the dye and he was trying to figure out what was going on

Here are some of the eggs that we did. We did 36 all together so there were lots more!!!
Saturday morning we woke up and my parents had prepared an Easter Egg hunt for Kendon. He caught right on and saw the first egg and knew what to do. Then he continued running around the house finding all of his eggs. He found all 10eggs in less than 5 minutes, and then he wanted to eat all of the candy inside!
Kendon spotting the first egg
Eating some of the candy
Checking out his Easter basket before he discovered the hidden eggs.
Kendon saying cheese after he found all of his eggs
Kendon in his Easter outfit after Church. I was shocked that he sat there and smiled long enough for us to get a few good shots.
I love this picture of him! He is growing up way too fast!!!
This is the best family picture that we could get. I guess Kendon was done after we took so many of just him!
Running around in the front yard. He LOVES being outside!
Jumping
After we had dinner we went to the park since it was such a nice day outside. We brought Kendon's bat and ball and he spent a lot of time hitting with Grandpa. Then he decided that he wanted to try and hit by himself. Aunt Chelsey pitched him the ball and every time that he would miss the ball he would get mad a Chelsey like it was her fault! But one time he actually hit the ball all by himself! It went about 20 feet! He is going to be a GREAT baseball player! The picture above is him swinging when he hit it himself!
After Kendon was done hitting the ball Grandpa took him over to go down the slides! He was loving it! They started out at the small tube slide.
Then they moved to the BIG slide! He was having a great time!
There were 4 little steps that he had to climb up and he was doing a great job! He had gone up 5 times all by himself so Grandpa was just kind of there to spot him. Then the 6th time he kind of missed one of the steps and hit his mouth on the step! Grandpa picked him up and he was bleeding pretty bad inside of his mouth. We looked at it and his 2 front teeth had cut the inside of his bottom lip pretty bad! And he had a cut on the outside of his bottom lip as well, so I was worried that his tooth had gone all the way through! We decided to be safe and take him to Redi Care, we didn't want it to scar! We got there and they got us right in with the doctor and she looked at it. Luckily his tooth had not gone all the way through and the cuts on the inside were not way deep. The doctor said we could take him to the ER and have him put under and have stitches put in, but it would just be really hard on Kendon and then we would have to fight him to not pick at the stitches. She said in her opinion she would just let the cuts heal and give him lots of popsicles and ice. So we did that. She cleaned it out really good with Hydrogen Peroxide, which he HATED! Then she gave him some Motrin and prescribed Amoxicillin so that he did not get an infection. I was so relieved that he did not have to get stitches!!!
Kendon right after we cleaned all the blood off. Poor guy! Grandpa felt really bad and said that he should have been watching him better, but he was doing the best he could and what I would have been doing. So don't worry about it Dad, it's not your fault! And he is going to be fine! He will just have a really fat lip for a few days!

First, Kendon's poor lip!! Second, I love your hair color, I see your roots are grown but that color looks beautiful. Kendon is getting so big, and darling. You look great, I miss you!

Whatever they grow up to be, they are still our children, and the one most important of all the things we can give them is unconditional love. Not a love that depends on anything at all except that they are our children.
